Michael & Minoo Short welcome you to Dialogue-Angloscene Centre in RYE, East Sussex, England.
Michael and Minoo each have over 25 years of experience in coaching people of different nationalities and professional backgrounds in English communication skills.
Minoo has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences. She also holds the Cambridge Teaching English as a Foreign Language Diploma (TEFL), qualifying her as an English teacher and teacher-trainer. She has been teaching English since 1982, and has also been Course Director at a number of English language schools in Asia and Europe. Her interests include foreign languages and social affairs.
After an exciting career in international political affairs, Michael became the Director of Studies in an English language school in Iran in 1980. Since then he has been mainly involved in directing English language programmes and teaching English to a wide range of foreign students. He is widely travelled and his hobbies include information technology, science, aviation, astronomy and sailing.
Michael and Minoo have been organsing intensive one-to-one English immersion courses since 1999, and you can trust their expertise to provide you with a tailor-made intensive English course with guaranteed results.

Our English courses are organised at Minoo & Michael’s home, a cosy English-style house. The house is in a quiet and peaceful location with superb views of the English countryside, and only a ten-minute walk from the historic 11th Century town of Rye.
Your room is comfortable and fully equipped with a desk, CD player/radio, television and DVD player, private bathroom (washbasin, shower and toilet), and a ‘Wi-Fi’ connection to the Internet for your laptop.
All lessons are one-to-one and tailored to your specific needs. They focus simultaneously on:
- Improving precise aspects of the language (comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation…)
- Improving oral or written communication skills in a specific field (banking, insurance, environment, business...)
We welcome a maximum of three or four students a week in Rye. This is to ensure full personalisation and also outside the lessons. The teaching team consists of Michael, Minoo, Andy and Tatiana. Andy and Tatiana are both highly qualified and experienced teachers with extensive training in our personalised and effective coaching method.
